Computer Facilities

The KSE has two computer laboratories with a total of fifty workstations. Workstations are currently equipped with Microsoft Office, EViews (a statistical/econometric package), Stata, Matlab, Nlogit and other software. Additional computer programs may be added as the need arises. The workstations are part of the KSE local area network and have high-speed Internet access and e-mail capability.

Computer Lab assistants are available during all operating hours to assist with technical questions.

Computer Facilities Usage Policy and Rules

Computer labs are open during the following hours throughout the academic year:

Monday, Wednesday and Friday: 8 am to 9 pm
Tuesday, Thursday: 9 am to 9 pm
Saturday: 11 am to 6 pm (from September to July)
Sunday: 11 pm to 6 pm

Hours could be reduced during summer and winter holidays.

Computer labs rules:

  • use of the facilities is restricted to KSE students, staff, faculty and alumni;
  • computer games are not allowed;
  • during periods of heavy use, time limits on access to the Internet may be imposed;
  • computer facilities are to be used exclusively for academic work connected with the program;
  • students are not allowed to install any software in computer labs;
  • upon leaving the computer lab, login sessions must be closed;
    in case of emergency, the computer labs may be closed for technical service;
  • all information on hard drives of the computers in the computer labs is erased every month;
  • safety rules and rules designed to prevent infection by viruses are observed;
  • all students and alumni have access to printers based on paper usage report quotas; also they have 100,000 KB free space for personal folders located on the server in addition to public shared folder for temporary usage;
  • no food or drink is consumed in the computer laboratories;

Violation of these rules is considered equivalent to the violation of the general rules of behavior and is sufficient grounds for punishment up to and including expulsion from the program.
