2 KSE ALUMNI ASSOCIATION

We are pleased to inform you about the progress in creating the KSE Alumni Association.

 First, we have identified class representatives for all but one class, who can serve as the 'board' of the Alumni Association.

Second, every EERC/KSE student who has graduated from EERC/KSE will be automatically considered to be a member of the Alumni Association. No fee payments are necessary.

Third, the following goals of the KSE Alumni Association have been suggested:

  • Providing Information to the alumni community about activities that KSE is involved in
  • Providing alumni with updated information about career opportunities as well as about the career developments of alumni
  • Providing support in realizing the ideas and projects of KSE alumni
  • Supporting the Kyiv School of Economics, its mission and goals

Based on the suggested goals, the following activities of the KSE Alumni Association are proposed:

  • Updating to the alumni about alumni careers and about news from KSE, by means of a quarterly Alumni Newsletter
  • Sending Regular information about career opportunities
  • Creating an Alumni Association web page on the KSE web site and promoting the Alumni Association activities in social networks
  • Organizing an Alumni Congress to improve networking of academic, policy and business alumni
  • Organizing open lectures with speakers suggested by alumni
  • Organizing regular alumni reunions, for example at the ASSA meetings
  • Fundraising for an Alumni Scholarship, the Roy Gardner Award, and Peter Kennedy Memorial Fellowship
  • Creation of an Alumni Endowment fund for the support of KSE

If you have any suggestions for the Alumni Association and its activities, please let us know. We are looking forward to hear your ideas and comments.

3 KSE ALUMNI CONGRESS

We are now preparing the first KSE Alumni Congress. The event will be held on Friday, May 25, 2012, in Kyiv. The goal of this Congress is to provide a forum in which the KSE alumni can exchange academic, policy, and business ideas.

The Congress will consist of academic, policy and business sessions and be concluded by a KSE Open Lecture. We will invite KSE students, partners, and representatives of press to participate in the event.

4 CAREER PRESENTATIONS FOR KSE STUDENTS AND GRADUATES

In March-April 2012 the following career presentations will be held at KSE:

March 26: KPMG

March 28: Dragon Capital

March 30: McKinsey & Company

April 6: Bain & Company

April 20: BCG

5 Employment of KSE Alumni

Since 1998, KSE graduated 482 students. The majority of the KSE graduates works in the private sector (71%). Fourteen percent of KSE alumni works in academia and the remaining 15% are employed in the public sector.


KSE graduates occupy various positions: 11% of alumni occupy top managerial positions, like Vice President, CFO, and Director; 20% of graduates hold middle level managerial positions (Project Manager, Investment Manager, Portfolio Manager); 10% are heads of various departments and divisions. Thirty-six percent of KSE graduates works as analysts and consultants.


Major employers of the KSE graduates, are:
Bain & Company – 7 graduates
Concorde Capital – 5 graduates
Deloitte – 9 graduates
Dragon Capital – 3 graduates
Ernst & Young – 9 graduates
KPMG – 6 graduates
PricewaterhouseCoopers – 8 graduates
SimCorp – 6 graduates.

Also, 5 graduates are employed by the EBRD, 2 by the IMF, 6 by the IFC, and 3 by the World Bank.
